From 2022 to 2023, Thariq Abdullah held the position of General Counsel at Destini Berhad. Before this role, he had an illustrious career at the Export Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad from 2008 to 2021, where he occupied several senior roles, including Senior Vice President II, Head of Asset Rehabilitation and Recovery, Senior Vice President II, Head of Legal & Advisory Division, Senior Vice President II / Head of Corporate Services Division, and Vice President / Head of Corporate Secretarial. Prior to his tenure at the Export Import Bank, Thariq was the Head of Legal and Acting Head of Risk Management at QSR Brands (M) Holdings Berhad from 2007 to 2008. Between 2004 and 2007, he served as the Legal Manager at Pernec Corporation Berhad. From 1999 to 2003, he was an Executive in the Investigation department at the Securities Commission Malaysia. Thariq began his professional journey as a Legal Associate at Messrs. Sofian Syed Ahmad & Co, where he worked from 1996 to 1999. Over the course of his career, he has amassed significant expertise in legal affairs, corporate services, risk management, and asset rehabilitation, establishing himself as a seasoned professional and leader in his field.
